The weather may have been dreary, but the atmosphere inside the historic Glasbern Inn was warm and inviting as generous donors and Pathstones members gathered for an appreciation event on Wednesday, May 21.
The event celebrated and thanked some of Phoebe Ministries’ most committed supporters, including 1903 Club members, Legacy Society donors, and Pathstones members.
As attendees filtered in, handcrafted beverages, tea, and coffee were served. Guests paused on their way to their tables to have their pictures taken in front of the fireplace and grass backdrop.
Before lunch officially began, Executive Director of Philanthropy Janet Hines encouraged everyone to write words of compassion and encouragement to residents of Phoebe with cards featuring custom artwork by Phoebe Richland resident Sandy Shelly.
Hines then formally welcomed everyone to the event, expressing immense gratitude for those who continue to support Phoebe’s mission of providing excellent senior care and quality housing options.
“You are the heartbeat of Phoebe,” said Hines, stating that the regular selflessness of those in the room has fueled the organization’s programs and services for years.
Beth Vargus then took the stage on behalf of Glasbern, sharing her personal connection to the property and some of the history surrounding the grounds.
Chief Operating Officer Jason Shott delivered his remarks shortly after, once again expressing gratitude to those in attendance. Shott also shared the exciting developments that Phoebe has undergone over the past year, including Chestnut Ridge at Rodale’s one-year anniversary and the development of Phoebe Organic Farm.
As guests finished the main course, Hines officially recognized each individual donor society, listing off some of Phoebe’s supporters by name.
Lisa Hoffman, Executive Director of Pathstones by Phoebe, thanked Pathstones members in the audience for seeing the program’s innovative vision and for putting their faith in Phoebe to take care of their future. Hoffman also shared exciting updates about the rapid growth of Pathstones and how they plan to expand in the near future.
As dessert made its way to each table, Hines offered one last moment of gratitude to everyone in the room. Guests mingled and left at their leisure, connecting with friends of old and new.
