Dessert and Movie Clips Served at Phoebe Richland Cheesecake Social

Few things bring people together like good food and good films. Phoebe Richland’s Memory Support wing hosted a Cheesecake Social this summer, combining dessert and movies for a delightful afternoon.

Led by Community Life Assistant Sally Spear, the social had residents gather to discuss various movie clips while enjoying slices of rich cheesecake topped with berries.

Multiple clips were shown throughout the evening, including excerpts from Shirley Temple and George M. Cohan’s works. Residents enjoyed the clips by singing along to show tunes and identifying the actors and periods from which each clip came.

Spear served cake and gave historical background information regarding each clip before playing.

The Cheesecake Social was a nice way for residents to wind down at the end of the day, and provided valuable time for reminiscing for our residents in Memory Support.
