In the second of three Century Circle Socials this summer, Phoebe Richland hosted an electrifying, ’50s-themed party featuring a performance by Patrice Hawthorne and MaryBeth Ventura of the Decade Travelers.
The room was buzzing with energy by the end of the show. Residents and staff became increasingly joyful across a memorable set of sing-along ‘50s music. By the end of the show, staff had danced on stage with the performers, guests had formed a conga line, and residents were singing face to face with performers as they traversed the crowd.
The room presented an explosion of color, harkening back to an era of jukebox-backed ice cream parlors. Community Life staff went all out with their costumes, perfectly replicating the iconic garb of the ‘50s. The performers themselves even praised Phoebe Richland’s commitment to the theme.
For the cherry on top, milkshakes were available to all attendees.
“This was my favorite Century Circle Social so far,” says Community Life Lead AnnMarie Petitto-Thomas. “The residents had a great time.”
In what has become a cherished tradition, Century Circle Socials like these allow our most generous donors to meaningfully connect with residents and have a great time in the process. They also allow us to thank Century Circle members for making activities and events like these possible for residents.
