2024 Phoebe Institute on Aging Gala

Thank You for Making the 2024 Phoebe Gala a Success!

Thank you to everyone who attended or volunteered at the Phoebe Institute on Aging (PIA) Gala! With your help, Phoebe raised over $14,000 – enough to buy one Memory Table for our residents, and well on our way to a second one!

2024 Rev. Dr. Grant Harrity Award for Exemplary Service to the Aging

We are honored to announce Dr. Joseph Vincent as the winner of the 2024 Rev. Dr. Grant Harrity Award for Exemplary Service to the Aging. Vincent has significantly contributed his time, talents, and resources to Phoebe Ministries. In the late 1990s, Joe was a founding member of the Phoebe Institute on Aging, where he continues to serve on the advisory committee. He remains an active supporter of the Phoebe Institute on Aging as a speaker and advocate.

Vincent, along with Dr. Francis Salerno, developed a groundbreaking geriatric assessment used at Phoebe. This assessment, which was the first of its kind, integrated the contributions of everyone involved in a patient’s care, a concept now known as the Person-Centered Model of Care.

Vincent has also been an active donor, directly supporting residents and staff. His dedication to Phoebe and the senior population is unquestionable. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for Phoebe!

2024 William H. Hacker Business Spirit of Giving Award

We are honored to announce Mary Ann and Bob Pickell and the CarePatrol of the Lehigh Valley and Upper Bucks Team as the winners of the William H. Hacker Business Spirit of Giving Award for their exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to the long-term care community through their work at CarePatrol. Mary Ann and Bob and their team have demonstrated outstanding business acumen and a deep dedication to ensuring the well-being of local seniors and their families. Under their guidance, CarePatrol has flourished as a trusted community resource for senior care solutions. Mary Ann and Bob’s philanthropic efforts are also a very important part of their business. They understand the art of giving back and volunteering their time and resources to local senior-focused groups and initiatives, particularly through the Lehigh Valley Aging in Place Coalition (LVAIP) and their annual Symposium and Expo.

Mary Ann Pickell sits on the Dementia Friendly Lehigh Valley (DFLV) Steering Committee and the DFLV Marketing and Awareness Committee. They have initiated and sponsored Betty Ann’s Memory Cafe, which is held in the Lehigh Valley, and raised awareness and funds to support the Twilight Wish Foundation. They have also been avid promoters and sponsors of Phoebe’s annual PIA Conference and Golf Tournament. Together, their passion for improving the lives of others is evident in their generosity and their participation in community programs aimed at raising awareness about senior care issues.

Congratulations to All Award Nominees!
