Phoebe Allentown’s Fall-tastic 2025 Basket Social

The Phoebe Allentown Basket Social is the campus’s biggest and most beloved fundraising event of the year. It draws visitors and family members from all around the local area to support the programs that enrich the lives of Phoebe residents.

This year, the 26th Annual Basket Social, taking place over two days, featured 92 baskets and three big-ticket prizes: a drivable toy car for children, a pair of kayaks, and a 75-inch television.

Guests, staff, and residents flocked to Moyer Hall to browse the impressive array of prizes. The baskets included everything from paid spa trips to headphones, kitchenware, and more.

Meanwhile, local food trucks catered for the event just outside. Attendees could stop by and grab dinner or a sweet treat from Top of the Hill Grill, Mister Softee, Uno Taqueria, Jerkies Jamaican BBQ, or Sugar Cycle.

At the end of the second day, it came time for the ticket drawing. Winners were announced one by one, and any winners who couldn’t make it in person were contacted by phone with the good news.

Phoebe Allentown is proud to share that the event raised $15,225.25! This money will directly fuel vital activities, programs, musical guests, and outings that provide meaningful experiences for our residents.

“This year’s Basket Social was well attended,” said Administrative Assistant Linda Plunkett. “We have many repeat visitors who remark that we have the best baskets around! Many thanks to all the businesses, departments, and neighborhoods that donated baskets, prizes, and cash to the event.”

This year’s Basket Social would not have been possible without the coordination of the Basket Social Team, made up of Plunkett, Joan Wickel, Community Life Campus Manager; Bobbi-Jo Novogoratz, Administrative Assistant; Maryanne Heffelfinger, CNA; Terry McCloud, Community Life Coordinator; Carmela Simmons, Residential Services Coordinator; Cindy Bonney, and Pam Kleckner.

Phoebe would also like to thank the many volunteers and staff members who helped ensure the event ran smoothly!

With another successful Basket Social in the books, it’s time to mark your calendars for next year’s Basket Social on September 24 and 25, 2026! See you then!
