Boots, buckles, bandanas, and 10-gallon hats could be seen across The Terrace’s outdoor patio for Phoebe Allentown’s Cowboy Cookout!
While not quite reaching desert temperatures, the warm and sunny day provided the perfect backdrop and opportunity for residents to gather and enjoy each other’s company. Dining and Community Life staff helped prepare corn on the cob, beans, burgers, soft drinks, and more as the patio filled with residents.
The western atmosphere was completed by a barnyard backdrop, cowboy balloons, and a folksy, bluegrass-filled performance by the very talented Mike and Linda Hertzog. The two donned banjos and an upright bass for a wildly fun set that had residents clapping their hands and stomping their feet.
The event also featured foam “axe-throwing” with a large, colorful target for residents to aim at.
It’s safe to say that lunch that day was a rootin’ tootin’ good time!
