Residents and Staff at Phoebe Berks Create Campus-Wide Butterfly Display for National Nursing Home Week
WERNERSVILLE, P.A. – Residents and staff of Phoebe Berks Village are celebrating National Nursing Home and Retirement Community Week by crafting butterflies, wind streamers and mobiles in colors that represent Phoebe’s Faith in Action values and displaying them in the trees around the campus.
“This year’s National Nursing Home theme is ‘Living the Aloha Spirit,’ which asks everyone to interact with love, respect and to joyfully share life,” says Mary Kay McMahon, Executive Director of Phoebe Berks. “We felt this perfectly tied in to Phoebe’s Faith in Action Values and decided to use this opportunity for a collaborative project that promotes our corporate values.”
Faith in Action is a philosophy instituted by Phoebe Ministries in 2009 with core values to provide compassionate resident-centered care and staff interactions at Phoebe. These positive, caring interactions continue to be the core of the “Phoebe difference.”
Each butterfly is made from colored sheeting that represents one of Phoebe’s seven Faith in Action Values. The butterfly colors include Accountability – Orange, Compassion – Red, Ethical Conduct – Yellow, Fruits of the Spirit – White (Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, generosity, gentleness, self-control), Integrity – Blue, Respect – Purple, and Stewardship – Green.
