The thirteenth annual Phoebe Institute on Aging Benefit celebrated Wisdom with Age at DeSales University on March 23, with nearly 250 supporters of Phoebe gathered to celebrate and raise over $80,000 in support of education. This year’s Rev. Dr. Grant Harrity Award for Exemplary Service to the Aging was posthumously presented to Francis A. Salerno, M.D. who passed away in November 2016. As he networked and mentored other geriatric care professionals, Dr. Salerno’s commitment to education and collaboration were an inspiration to his colleagues.
Featured performers at the event were a group of Phoebe’s independent living residents who worked with students from DeSales University to better understand the benefits of rhythmic drumming.
Lead sponsors included Arbor Insurance Group, L.R. Webber & Associates, The Morning Call, and Stevens & Lee.
