Lisa Fichera, COO, Receives Women of Influence Lifetime Achievement Award
Lisa Fichera, Phoebe’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), was named a Woman of Influence and was the sole recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 Lehigh Valley Business Women of Influence Awards luncheon. The ceremony, held on May 19 at Cedar Crest College, highlighted Fichera and other professionals who were chosen based on experience, exceptional integrity and leadership skills, and a proven track record of accomplishments.
Fichera began her career at Phoebe in 1978 as an Administrative Assistant in the Human Resources Department. As Phoebe Ministries expanded, so did Fichera’s responsibilities. In 1992, after 14 years of various roles in the department, she was promoted to Director of Human Resources. Two years later, she became the Vice President of Human Resources. The promotions continued until most recently, when she was named Chief Operating Officer for the entire Phoebe organization.
Fichera credits the Rev. Paul P. Haas, Executive Director of Phoebe Home in the 1970s, for giving her the best business advice she’s ever received. He told her to “be attentive to the needs of our residents, be a good listener, and balance the financial considerations of a decision with the human considerations of a decision.” The advice has served her well.
Today, Fichera oversees the daily operations of Phoebe, along with Scott Stevenson, President and Chief Financial Officer, and Sandy Massetti, Chief Healthcare Officer. In her tenure, she’s provided more than 30 years of invaluable service, guidance, and vision to Phoebe. Fichera says she is “most proud and blessed to be a part of Phoebe, and a Woman of Influence in the Lehigh Valley.”
