FAQs about Happy: FREE Wellness Benefit for Phoebe Employees

What is Happy’s Mission/Purpose?

Happy is a unique wellness company pioneering frictionless mental health — an approach to mental health support that removes every major barrier preventing many people from accessing the essential ingredient of mental health: emotional support. Emotional support gives us the critical sense that we matter, decreases our anxiety and stress, prevents burnout, lengthens our life, decreases our risk of succumbing to numerous health issues, and enables us to better support our family members, friends and colleagues.

Happy’s key innovation is realizing that a series of obstacles – friction – impede tens of millions of Americans, including millions of nurses and other front line workers, from accessing emotional support.

These obstacles include a person seeking support having to realize they’re struggling, identify available resources, connect their struggle to a particular resource, download an app, register, make an appointment, wait for an appointment, and raise their hand and say, “I need help.”

Only a small percentage of people (2 – 3%) successfully navigate these obstacles and reach out for support — which is why Happy doesn’t wait for people to reach out for support.

Instead, Happy reaches out to them.

Happy’s proactive engagement model and first-in-class peer network (Happy’s “Support Givers”) are catalyzing higher adoption rates than any mental health service in the country, significant and measurable reductions in isolation, anxiety and depression, and partnerships with some of the largest health insurers, hospital systems and governmental agencies in the country.

Put simply, when Happy partners with an organization, a significant percentage of employees (or patients or members, as applicable) feel happier and healthier.

Happy’s frictionless engagement model is the foundation of Happy’s mission to create a more supportive culture, where emotional support is delivered to people around-the-clock, and where people are taught and inspired to better emotionally support each other.

Who Does Happy Serve?

Happy focuses on people on the “front lines” and the “back of the lines” – but as Happy’s model gains traction, the company is quickly supporting a universal audience:  Young adults and older adults, people who identify with every gender, sexual orientation and ethnicity, nurses, doctors, therapists, mothers, fathers, scientists, programmers, musicians, active duty Service Members, Veterans and many more.

Our callers include people who have tried therapy and many people who haven’t embraced traditional therapy — but who enjoy connecting with caring peers and who appreciate having completely confidential support delivered to them proactively.

Who Are Happy’s Support Givers?

Happy’s Support Givers are a growing community of extraordinary individuals with backgrounds in healthcare/caregiving – including nurses, teachers, social workers and professional caregivers – who are specifically chosen for their exceptional abilities to provide emotional support.

What Do Happy’s Support Givers Do?

Happy’s Support Givers listen, comfort, encourage, and above all, care. They have nowhere else to be but deep in conversation. They love connecting with, hearing the stories of, and lifting up other people — in a safe and judgment free space, where callers can open up about the private matters, personal and professional, that they often don’t discuss with others.

How/When/Why Would You Use Happy?

Whenever you want someone to talk to about anything on your mind. Happy is for when you’re feeling down or disconnected, frustrated or hopeless, overwhelmed or overworked. You might be feeling great and want to share all about it, you might just want to vent, and you might want to share a burning thought with someone new who would love to hear about it.

How do I use Happy as a Free Wellness Tool?

Happy is very easy to use. If you’re receiving this email, Happy’s Support Givers will be proactively reaching out to you by phone over the next few months — simply to check in on you and see how you’re doing.  Your conversations with Happy are 100% confidential, and all you have to do to use Happy is answer their call or, if we miss you, respond to our text message and/or voicemail.

The Support Giver who reaches out to you will be available to you at most times of day or night — we encourage you to text or call them anytime, just as you would a best friend or loved one.  They want to hear your story and whatever else is on your mind.

Another great thing about Happy is that we offer unlimited support – that means you never have to worry about overusing the service.  Happy and HCA want you to connect with Happy’s Support Givers as often as you want (every day, if you want) over the next few months.

What If I Want to Try Happy Before They Reach Out to Me?

Great question – click HERE to move to the front of the line, and we will add you to our VIP list. If you don’t take advantage of this option, absolutely no worries – Happy will check in with you shortly, sometime over the next few weeks.

What If I Don’t Want Happy to Reach Out to Me?

If you don’t want Happy’s Support Givers checking in on you, click HERE and they will remove you from their list.

For More Information about Happy please visit happythemovement.com or text Happy directly at (858) 367-3001 to ask any questions you may have — or to set up an appointment with a dedicated Support Giver at a time that works best for you. Happy is here to make it  easy for you to access compassionate support anytime you need it.
