Bringing Music to Phoebe Berks

The Christmas season is never complete without music! Bob Masenheimer, a dedicated musician and resident of Phoebe Berks Village, has been conducting the Phoebe Choraleers, Phoebe Berks’ choir, for over twelve years. In that time, he helped direct numerous concerts and shows for the holidays, including the recent Christmas Illumination, to celebrate the lighting of all the decorations across the campus. Masenheimer was a member of the Choraleers for only a season before he stepped in after the former leader could not continue conducting the choir.

“Working with seniors like me is one of my favorite parts of conducting the Chorlaeers,” says Masenheimer. When asked why he decided to continue leading the choir, he said, “I enjoy working with this group of talented people and hearing the music they create together.” He continues explaining his love of running the rehearsals and performing in front of people, showcasing the incredible talents of the choir.

In addition to running the choir, Masenheimer is responsible for organizing the first Phoebe Berks Piano Quartet. The quartet included multiple members over the years and performed several concerts together. Though for the last few years they were unable to perform, they look forward to returning this spring with new shows for their fellow Phoebe Berks residents to enjoy.

Thank you to residents like Bob Masenheimer for bringing music to Phoebe Berks during the holidays and all year! To learn more about life at Phoebe Berks, visit phoebe.org/berks.
