Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll: Baby Boomers and Aging
2021 PIA Conference Presented by Cura Hospitality.
In consideration for the safety of our attendees, speakers, staff, and the community, the Phoebe Institute on Aging (PIA) Conference took place virtually through Conference Tracker on March 18. In the weeks leading up to the conference, hundreds of people registered for the PIA Conference titled Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll: Baby Boomers and Aging. Nearly 400 attendees logged-on during the conference, watching on their phones, tablets, and laptops from across Pennsylvania. The PIA Conference also had viewers in Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Maryland, New York, and Illinois.
PBS39 volunteered their time and their television studio to Phoebe Ministries, and assisted with broadcasting the morning session. This included a panel discussion with Secretary Torres, the Pennsylvania Secretary of the Department of Aging, and keynote speaker Dr. Ruth Westheimer.
After a lunch dance break featuring The Large Flowerheads, a 60’s tribute-band based in the Lehigh Valley, participants attended various break-out sessions featuring topical information on the subjects of sex, drugs, and rock & roll.
