Forum on Aging Focuses on Physical and Mental Wellness

The 12th Annual Upper Bucks Forum on Aging, a program of The Phoebe Institute on Aging, was held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at First UCC Quakertown. Over 100 older adults attended the event with presenters on topics of interest such as fitness, healthy lifestyles, caregiving, scam protection and local legislative updates. Attendees also enjoyed exhibitors from many local businesses and service organizations, as well as a complimentary lunch.

Senior wellness was the focal point of this year’s event, and a highlight was the interactive “Fitting in Fitness” presentation by Upper Bucks YMCA Health and Wellness Director Megan Gelsebach, who got attendees up and moving to demonstrate beneficial exercises.

The forum is a free educational event in honor of Older Americans Month and is open to the public. The purpose of the forum is to is to seek local public input and encourage citizens 55 years of age or older to learn about aging services and resources in their community.
