Generations Come Together to Raise Funds for Phoebe’s Community Life Departments

On Saturday, June 3rd individuals from across Phoebe took part in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community at DeSales University. Despite the rain, over 40 community members, including families, staff, residents and elementary school students walked to raise $4,251.00 for the community life departments at Phoebe’s four skilled nursing centers.

The walk was just less than 2 miles and participants were able to visit booths for each of the 29 non-profits involved in the event. The highlight of the walk for those on the team was the fact that it provided an intergenerational opportunity with older adults and students walking together for the same cause. The rain didn’t keep anyone from having a good time!

Community life enriches the lives of residents every day through a variety of activities. Highmark underwrites the cost of the walk which makes every dollar the Phoebe team raised go directly to resident care.
