Phoebe Ministries would like to congratulate Joe Franco, Executive Director of Information Technology, on being named one of the Lehigh Valley Business 2020 Forty Under 40 awards winners! Joe has worked for Phoebe Ministries since 2003 in the information technology department. During that time, Joe has accomplished extraordinary goals, grown into a well-respected manager, and become admired as a leader within the Phoebe Ministries organization.

As the Executive Director for Information Technology (IT) Joe oversees all of the technology needs for the Phoebe Ministries entities. Joe’s responsibilities include serving four continuing care retirement communities, a new independent living community, eight affordable housing facilities, home and community-based services, and three pharmacies that serve 12 counties.

Joe has 15 years of experience in all areas of IT including systems, network, security, and telephony. He has a reputation within the community for technical excellence, consistency, reliability, and the ability to troubleshoot complex and challenging issues while remaining calm and collected. He’s received three internal Phoebe Presidential Awards that are presented by Phoebe’s leadership team.

He began his career as a young man working in the dining department on the Phoebe Berks campus in Wernersville, Pennsylvania. His thirst for knowledge, drives his willingness to take on any new task, and motivates him to teach others how to use technology in a way that influences large strategic goals and improves daily workflows.

Joe is also responsible for coordinating all aspects of the IT Department; including technical activities, projects, applications, and the day-to-day operations including the internal Phoebe help desk.  He works tirelessly to achieve excellent customer service with his staff and has created an atmosphere of loyalty within his department. Joe’s contributions to modernizing Phoebe’s technology programming is invaluable to our legacy organization which has a 117-year old history in Allentown. The progress of Phoebe’s IT systems, programs, and capabilities over the years can be largely attributed to Joe’s consistent desire to stay one step ahead of the curve. Winners of Lehigh Valley Business’ Forty Under 40 awards were judged and scored by a panel of alumni members for their professional achievement, community engagement and commitment to inspiring others.
