Sandra Massetti, Phoebe’s Chief Healthcare Officer, has been selected for the 2015 Dr. Herbert Shore Outstanding Mentor Award by LeadingAge. This award is given in recognition of Massetti’s dedication, commitment and passion for mentoring others in the aging-services field. Massetti is the only individual to receive the national award this year. Individuals Massetti has mentored emphasize that she fosters an environment of learning in which ideas can be freely shared, encourages professional growth, and supports ideas fostering innovation. Her mentoring technique promotes others’ growth in leadership roles at Phoebe Ministries.
Massetti has served Phoebe for 12 years. Her expertise is in program development, revenue enhancement, dementia and behavioral health services and programming, quality outcome initiatives and operational improvements in the health care divisions at Phoebe. Massetti has been actively involved as a speaker and trainer at area high schools, colleges and other healthcare facilities on various age related topics. She also helped develop Phoebe’s first Geriatric Care Management, Dementia Education At-Home, and Brain Fitness Programs, as well as the Phoebe Center for Excellence in Dementia Care. Massetti was active on the LeadingAge PA Board and is currently a member of Pennsylvania’s Nor-LeadingAge’s Education committee, Behavioral Health and Aging Committee, Advisory Council of the Northampton County Area on Aging, Phoebe’s Institute on Aging and various other boards and committees at Phoebe.
