Spirit Alive Staff and Volunteers Share Experiences from Innovative Program

Spirit Alive RetreatVolunteers and staff chaplains who lead Spirit Alive worship groups at Phoebe’s four campuses gathered at the Phoebe Richland campus for an afternoon retreat where they shared fellowship, learning and the blessings they have received leading Spirit Alive. Spirit Alive is a specialized worship service experience designed for residents with dementia.

This event was the first time that staff and volunteer facilitators had the opportunity to share their experiences. They discussed what they love about leading Spirit Alive sessions and the wisdom and blessings that they receive from residents. The staff chaplains and volunteers make it possible to serve nearly 100 memory support residents for twelve Spirit Alive groups across the Phoebe campuses each week.

If you know someone who would like to volunteer to lead a Spirit Alive worship service please contact Chaplain Elizabeth Buss at 610-794-5114.
