Formerly a structural design engineer, Alan enrolled in Seminary and served as Youth Minister and Associate Pastor of his church. A graduate of Lehigh University, he received his M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and was ordained in 1979. Alan began his full-time ministry as an associate pastor in Pennsylvania Southeast Conference. He has also served a church within Penn Northeast Conference. In 1992, Alan accepted the call to serve as the Associate Southern Conference Minister for the Western North Carolina Association. In this position, Alan worked with 110 congregations, serving as the primary ecclesiastical representative of the wider church to the local congregations. He participated fully in the search and call process in the Association, and his role as Associate Conference Minister was as a resource and consultant for local congregations. In April 2002 Alan accepted the position as PNEC’s Conference Minister.
Alan and his wife Candy have two grown children, Mark and Tina.
