2019 PIA Conference-Judy Collins Speaks on Mental Health

Many of today’s elderly say they experience frequent mental distress and many of them don’t get adequate help or support to deal with the various sources of stress they face. It is important to differentiate the symptoms of aging from signs of a serious mental health condition. Speakers will explore the types, causes and detection of mental illness in seniors, treatments and therapies, and how to support the overall mental well-being of the elderly. The conference provides an overview of the multiple dimensions of mental illness and aging, including resources and services to address them.
