Volunteering at Phoebe Wyncote
Volunteers contribute significantly to the exceptional quality of life of Phoebe residents. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, span all ages, and share a willingness to use their diverse skills and experiences to help and support others. Volunteer opportunities exist at all Phoebe communities.
Typical volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Transporting residents to and from in-house activities
- Plant care throughout facility
- Pet care
- Visiting residents for reading, letter writing and socializing
- Escorting to doctor appointments off campus
- Playing bingo, cards, and/or board games
- Assisting the Activity Department in therapeutic recreational events planned such as movement exercises and eye-hand coordination techniques
- Providing musical programs such as playing an instrument, participating in sing-a-longs and sponsoring musical entertainment
- Helping with craft, art, woodworking and cooking programs
- Delivering mail
- Distributing snacks
- Serving breakfast, lunch and/or supper trays
- Clerical work such as filing, copying, preparing mailing and shredding
- Outdoor work in season
