Phoebe Berks offers award-winning memory support/dementia care services at two different levels of care: personal care (similar to assisted living) and skilled nursing. Through Montessori programming, we strive to engage residents’ strengths and interests in an environment designed for their success. No matter what you or your loved one’s needs, we’re committed to making the senior years with us the best they can be.

Personal Care Memory Support Features 
Village Gardens provides secure personal care with a specialized activity program for those who benefit from memory support services and need a moderate amount of assistance with  activities of daily living.

• 25 furnished private rooms with personal showers, positioned around a central common area
• Licensed nurse on duty 24 hours a day
• Home-like environment with three lounges, four sitting areas, personal memory boxes
• Family-centered activity program seven days a week, including evenings, featuring specialized Montessori programming
• Alzheimer’s Association designation for Memories in the Making, a watercolor painting program
• Red plate dining program, proven to increase food intake
• Access to onsite rehabilitation services
• Monthly Alzheimer’s Association support group on site for families and loved ones

Skilled Memory Support/Dementia Care at Phoebe Berks
The Chateau at Phoebe Berks offers memory support services in an 18-bed neighborhood designed for residents with early to mid-stages of Alzheimer’s disease or a dementia-related diagnosis. In addition to the features of out personal care memory supports neighborhood, the Chateau offers dedicated nursing staff on all shifts and memory support community life staff. We also offer access to psychiatric services through the Reading Hospital Willows Program. Learn more about skilled nursing

Licensure
Phoebe Berks’ personal care residences are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

Payment
Private pay is generally the payment method for personal care services. Limited funds are available for those individuals on Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

For skilled nursing, we accept most insurance, HMOs and commercial coverages.
