An Out-of-this-World Birthday Celebration at Phoebe Wyncote
Residents of Phoebe Wyncote celebrated their birthdays and accomplishments of the past year at the Century Circle 365 Celebration on Thursday, July 11. Organized by the community life team in the campus dining room, the astrology-themed party was out of this world!
Tables spread around the room were themed around a different astrology sign and decorated by staff members representing each sign. Residents were encouraged to sit at the tables that aligned with their birthdate.
The treats and trinkets that occupied each table varied from one another. For example, a fall zodiac sign table (encompassing Libras, Scorpios, and Sagittarius) featured ciders of different flavors, pumpkin pie, and fall-themed decor. The table representing the Cancer zodiac sign featured summer and fourth of July decorations, and the Aries table had cupcakes with flame decorations and lemonade.
During the celebration a slideshow of Phoebe Wyncote’s favorite moments and events over the past year was played. Residents, staff, and attendees enjoyed reminiscing about their favorite memories. A DJ kept the party going with a custom-made playlist as the backdrop for the party.
Before residents got treated to snacks, a staff representative from each table gave a brief presentation on what encapsulated each zodiac sign. Each person shared facts about the months that their sign encompassed and the traits of each sign.
Phoebe Wyncote is known for its tight-knit and intimate community; this energy came through during the event. Staff passed a microphone around the room and volunteering residents shared words of love, encouragement, and appreciation for the staff, the community, and life.
