Consultant/Clinical Pharmacy Services
The consultant clinical services team consists of a group of pharmacists with advanced geriatric and analytical expertise. The Director has a Doctorate in Pharmacy and is certified in geriatric pharmacy practice and board certified in psychiatric pharmacy practice. The department is responsible for the following activities:

Conduct a comprehensive review of residents' medications and relevant data. Upon completion of the review, recommendations to nursing are provided within 24 hours. The Unit Manager and Director of Nursing are notified immediately if during the review the potential for immediate harm is discovered.

Initiate, develop and implement therapeutic substitution programs resulting in minimized medication costs to the facility or resident while providing appropriate therapy.
