1 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
O God of mercy,
we thank you for your faithfulness to us every day.
Look with favor upon all those who need the compassion of your mercy,
those who suffer illness of body, mind or spirit, those who are imprisoned
by passions of the flesh and those who suffer innocently.
Grant us mercy in the time of testing and the assurance of your everlasting love.
Amen.
O God of love,
we thank you for the tender touch of your hand upon our lives:
for daily sustenance in times of need,
for comfort and healing in times of distress,
and for your love when others fail us and we can scarcely love ourselves.
Meet us this day at the point of our deep need and grant us your peace,
now and forever more.
Amen.
O God of ever new surprises,
teach us to be sensitive to the wonderful ways in which you bless our lives.
Enable us to appreciate, great and small, all of the joys of daily living.
And give us grace to be gracious to others.
